Format:
Participants can choose from 2 categories:
Fun – Social Quest climbing games for fun prizes
Open – Points-based Qualifiers + comp-style Finals
Open – Qualifiers
The first round will consist of 3 hours to climb boulders picked by the comp organisers. All climbers will have this time to climb as many problems as they can, with each send counting towards the participant’s score*. Scores will be tracked via the Griptonite app (download via iOS or Android).
Open – Finals
The second round will have top 3 highest scorers (for each gender) compete head-to-head on pre-determined boulder problems. Finalists will have 4 minutes to attempt/top each problem.
Fun – Social Quests
For those taking part in the Fun category, we will introduce various fun climbing-related games* for small prizes. These games will take place at the same time as Open – Qualifiers.
*Scoring (Open Qualifiers):
During the Qualifiers round, climbers will score based on the 1,000-point system. This means each bloc will be worth 1,000 points, but those points will be divided/shared by all the climbers who send it. So if you are the only person to send the problem, you get the entire 1,000 points. If 10 climbers send the same problem, each person will get 100 points. Individuals with the highest total scores will go into the finals.
*Social Quests (Fun climbing games):
Happening at the same time as Open Qualifiers, climbers will be given a list of “Quests” that they can complete to win prizes. These Quests are still being finalised, but will include games such as “Collect all the Slabs to win ‘Prince/Princess of Slabs’” and “Find a partner to help you climb a boulder, blind-folded!”.

This year, dearclimbing and HarroWall will be providing climbing-related prizes from various brands. Stay tuned for more details!

11:45 – 12:00 : Event Introduction
12:00 – 15:00 : Climbing Time (with pizza lunch)
15:10 – 15:40 : Fireside Chat with Charities
15:45 – 15:50 : Announce Open Finalists
16:00 – 16:45 : Open Finals
16:45 – 17:15 : Awards Ceremony
For those interested in lunch (and are worried about becoming hangry), we will have pizzas for the group in the afternoon (from around 1pm)! Climbers are welcome to enjoy the food whilst climbing Social Quests and Qualifiers.
